A thirty-one y/o man presents with parcial motor seizures with secondary generalization. CT scan examination demonstrates multiple lesions with variable characteristics.
Neurocysticercosis was confirmed by CSF study.
These images are representative of different stages coexisting: calcified with no edema, calcified with a cystic cavity and
active inflammatory, with edema and no calcification. A scolex is visible in the lesion near the head of the left caudate.
This patient had a severe hydrocephalus due to obstruction of the
cerebral aqueduct by a cysticercus (not shown), and a VP shunt was placed in the right lateral ventricle.
