Clues to the possibility of fibromyalgia syndrome

  • Past/present prolonged localized pain complaint important tests negative

  • Often prior nonspecific label- 'chronic fatigue' syndrome, 'restless legs' syndrome, etc.

  • Past/present tension headache, irritable bowel, fluid retention or similar syndromes
